Middleburg, VA Middleburg, VA Part-time Part-time From $30 an hour From $30 an hour Pediatric Camp Nurse - RN / LPN - Full Weekends at Camp Children with Special Needs Under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, the camp nurse (RN/LPN) works alongside the Weekend Adventures team from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon and oversees all medical care for campers ages 6-17 with intellectual disabilities.
There is one nurse on site who oversees the medical care for an average of 10 children throughout the weekend.
The nurse works alongside our Local Program Manager, Direct Care Specialists, and Volunteers to ensure our campers stay safe while having fun.
In addition to the medical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to assist our campers in activities such as hiking, low ropes courses, hayrides, swimming, craft time and even s'mores! General Duties:
Communicate with parents during check-in and check-out Administer medications in a safe and timely manner Attend to injuries and medical emergencies according to the guidelines provided by the nurse manager Document within EMR system Anticipate medical/nursing care problems and provide solutions Assist with ADLs as needed Education/
Experience:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a current, active, and unrestricted RN or LPN license in the state of Virginia BSN preferred Current CPR/BLS 1 year of nursing experience required; pediatric, intellectual/developmental disability, or neurologic experience preferred Additional Skills Required:
Possess the ability to remain calm and focused Excellent written and verbal communication skills Stamina to participate in camp activities Willingness to learn and grow Vibrant faith and passion for serving individuals with intellectual disabilities, God, and others Has demonstrated alignment with the foundation, vision, mission, and values of Jill's House Commitment level:
